Kristin is just one of these rockstar students.
Kristin Lawton is the Founder and Chief Brand Mixologist at The District Brand Bar.
She works with solopreneurs to craft their brand—messaging, marketing materials… everything!

You may have guessed by the name that she’s based in Washington, D.C., where she lives with her husband, Brian and dog, Forest.
If you were to only see her brand today, you’d be missing a whole chunk of the story!
Kristin started out working in nonprofits.
But she lost her job 1 month into the pandemic.
So her business is what we would call “a pandemic baby.”
She couldn’t imagine going back into an office, she’d been pretty hurt by the last few years at her job.
Kristin did what she could on her own for the first few months of online entrepreneurship. And then
“I realized I needed friends. And guidance from mentors. The online space is so different!”
She found resources and information online, but eventually she found Marisa.
Kristin joined Marisa inside the Copy Confidence Society in early 2021.
“CCS is the first thing I ever paid for and committed to. Plus she’s Marisa, so… you join!”
Kristin had learned what she didn’t want to do in her business, but she was still trying to figure out what she did want to offer.
Not to mention how to attract the people who wanted that thing.
“I was still trying to figure out who I was, what services I offered, & what my message was.”
CCS was the perfect place for Kristin!
She was able to get a handle on who her person was and how to make her messaging more concise.
“During CCS, I really got to know my audience through the ICA interviews.”
Not only did Marisa show Kristin how to navigate these interviews and use the feedback to craft an uncopyable message—
Marisa also introduced her to my Quiz-to-Cash Bash online summit!
“I listened to the summit. I took copious notes!”
Kristin attended the online summit and was so intrigued by the idea of creating a quiz to attract her ideal clients.
She didn’t join Quiz Lab right away. In fact, she didn’t join for a few months.
She was so determined to get a quiz done on her own.
You can certainly try to create a quiz without guidance, but there’s a lot of nuance that goes into a quiz that many people don’t realize.

Kristin reached out with a question, and we took some time to talk about how it was going with her quiz.
Not well. Her progress had stalled, even with an accountability workmate, and a lot had shifted in Kristin’s business that year behind the scenes.
Thankfully, Quiz Lab was about to open again so I shared that with her and told her more about the program. After a few months of struggling on her own—
She joined almost immediately!
